BACKGROUND: The main aim of this article is to understand the efficacy of Homoeopathic treatment for the autistic children and how Homoeopathy can offer a better quality of life to them.

Let us first understand what do you mean by Autism & its causes?
Autism is a disorder in which children have impaired or poor communication and social skills. There are many factors which affect them such as Genetic Factors as well as Siblings of a child with autism, Immunological Factors, Low Functioning Autism mainly associated with mental retardation, epilepsy, and extremely limited expressive language skills. High Functioning Autism children are much more efficient and have IQ scores of 71 or above.
What are the major signs & symptoms of Autism?
Very little or no eye contact, doesn’t like to be touched, no proper personal space, Difficulty understanding jokes, prefers to be alone, not able to understand what is happening around.
What is the role of Homoeopathy in treating Autism?
As we know Homoeopathy is known for its constitutional approach it holds good even here, when a detailed case is taken and analyzed in order to find the constitution of the child it helps the suffering child to come out of Autism in a better way. Not only medications but along with it there should be moral remedy which has to be given. Moral remedy according to Hahnemann is nothing but an affective counselling which has to be given not only to the child but also to the parents as they will have to be educated regarding the problem so that there will be a healthy ambience at home which in turn will help the child to recover in a faster way.

Tuberculinum bovinum:
The child will be very much dissatisfied and restless, desire to travel, doesn’t remain long in one place must move around. Violent and wants to fight with others for no reason. Sensitive and worse from music it makes him more irritable, indifferent to punishments & very Obstinate, malicious and destructive in nature.
Alumina:
Peevishness is the hallmark of this remedy, hasty and hurried, internal hastiness, but slow in execution, hence making mistakes in writing and speaking, confusion of intellect unable to remember very weak memory, uses words not intended. Mathematics is very tough unable to do simple calculations. The child wakes up confused and wonders where he is with involuntary weeping.
Silicea:
Doesn’t want to mingle with the people around cross and cries when spoken to, crawl nervously. Weeping children who cry piteously if taken hold of or carried. Obstinate stubborn head-strong. Oversensitive both mentally and physically & no imagination very much dull and slow in perception.
Staphysagria:
Very sensitive to least mental impression gets offended easily and feels insulted for every matter. Ill-humored and & grieves about consequences which he has to face.
Bufo:
Very weak memory, idiotic, feeble minded, deceitful, propensity to bite anyone around, impatient, nervous, extremely sensitive to light and noise, every little noise distresses. Desire to be alone always, music intolerable, fear animals and strangers, talk non-sense, and then gets angry for silly reasons.

Homoeopathy has a lot of scope in the treatment of Autistic children’s, it helps them to come out of the problem holistically and also gives them a better quality of life.
