Dr. J. H. Allen
John Henry Allen was a student of H.C. Allen. He was the president of the IHA in 1900. Dr. Allen taught at the Hering Medical College in Chicago. Dr. Allen died August 1, 1925

He was a devoted student of Dr. Hering and deeply influenced by Hahnemannian philosophy. Dr. Allen served as a professor at Hahnemann Medical College, Philadelphia, where he played a key role in shaping generations of homoeopathic physicians.
He made lasting contributions to homoeopathic literature through his classic works The Chronic Miasms – Psora and Pseudopsora, The Chronic Miasms – Syphilis, and The Chronic Miasms – Sycosis. In these writings, he elaborated and clarified Hahnemann’s miasmatic theory with strong clinical correlation. His book Keynotes and Characteristics with Comparisons is also widely valued for practical prescribing.
Dr. J. H. Allen emphasized constitutional prescribing, long-term case management, and strict adherence to homoeopathic principles.
