Abstract:
The way of living is evolving more quickly than in the past. Sedentary lifestyles and habits have taken on a larger portion of mechanical work. The Metabolic Syndrome (Met S), which is now used to predict coronary heart disease (CHD), other types of cardiovascular disease (CVD), or type 2 diabetes (T2D), may result from these alterations. When it comes to chronic and lifestyle problems, homeopathy not only lowers the risk of morbidity but also treats each patient uniquely. It is an extensive approach that increases the likelihood of overcoming such problems.
Keywords: Metabolic Syndrome, Homoeopathy, Rubrics, Hypertension, Diabetes, Obesity.
Introduction:
The co-occurrence of type 2 diabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and obesity, along with an increase in waist circumference and waist-to-hip ratio, is known as metabolic syndrome. This combination ultimately results in atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases, morbidity, and death.
Obesity:
In India, an estimated 135 million people are obese overall, with higher socioeconomic class and urbanization being associated with a higher prevalence of obesity. Weight in kilos divided by height in meters square yields the BMI. This has a significant impact on how the population is categorized using the following standards: The prevalence of obesity (BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2) may be slightly higher in women than in males, while mean BMI values were similar for the two sexes. As a result, a startlingly high percentage of both men and women are obese.
In general, men may have slightly higher mean waist circumference and waist hip ratio values than women, but women are thought to have a higher prevalence of abdominal obesity based on both metrics.
Causes:
Numerous factors contribute to obesity. Eating and weight regulation are significantly influenced by genetic, cultural, physiological, and metabolic factors.
(A) Alimentary (exogenous) Peptic ulcer, addiction, food, habit, overeating, and mental illness, not exercising.
(B) Hypothyroidism.
(C) Polycystic ovaries, or gonads.
Types of Distribution of Body- Fat Pear Type: Mostly in females, fat builds up around the hips and thighs. Apple Type: Found in both males and females, fat primarily builds up in the abdomen.
Obesity-related health risks include: Cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, stroke, osteoarthritis, gallbladder disease, venous circulatory disease, gout, and infertility, Skin conditions, respiratory disorders, and problems following surgery.
Homoeopathic management
In homeopathy, the patient is treated rather than the illness. When treating any illness, homeopathy takes a comprehensive approach. Obesity is influenced by genetic susceptibility and personal lifestyle issues. When treating a patient who suffers from obesity, feelings is also very important. Since homeopathy takes a holistic approach to treatment, there isn’t a specific medication for obesity, but it is unquestionably a very successful one for patients who suffer from obesity and other related risk factors.
SYCOSIS Miasm is the main cause of the body’s excessive fat accumulation. Therefore, in addition to the constitutional therapy, an antimiasmatic remedy must be administered to relieve miasmatic blockage. Because patient susceptibility is typically low, choosing a potency that is low will yield better results. Because obese individuals typically have slow and dull temperaments, temperament is also a crucial factor in treating obese patients. Since homeopathy takes a holistic approach to treatment, there isn’t a specific medication for obesity, but it is unquestionably a very successful one for patients who suffer from obesity and other related risk factors.
General management of obesity
- Exercise: It is a very beneficial addition to diets.
- DIET: The most effective way to lower obesity is through diet. A person has to consume 800-900 calories a day, together with all the necessary foods. • These foods must be avoided. Foods high in sugar, sweets, and salt; bread and anything made with flour, cereals, potatoes, and other entire root vegetables. Avoid cream, butter, and fat.
- Psychotherapy: Moral lectures and weight loss motivation are intended to help neurotic patients use food as a form of relief for their concern.
- One benefit of using starvation-fasting as a treatment is that patients can experience a significant weight loss within a week, which may have psychological advantages.
- Jejuno-Ileal Bypass Surgery: This procedure is recommended for patients who are extremely obese and have not decreased their weight after five years of medical treatment.
COMMON MEDICINES FOR METABOLIC SYNDROME AND OBESITY:
- CALCAREA CARB: Constitutional remedy for reducing fat. Sweat on scalp which wets the pillow when sleeping. Heart weak, palpitation with feeling of coldness, with restless oppression of chest. Urine dark, foul odor.
