
Abstract: Cocculus indicus in homoeopathy have a good reputation to cure many diseases and in this case of hepatitis-B, cocculus have done a wonderful and marvelous improvement .

Introduction: Hepatitis is a parenchymal disease of the liver due to a variety of causes in which variable no. of hepatocytes undergo necrosis.
By Definition: Hepatitis is an inflammation of the liver caused by a variety of predisposing factors.
Hepatitis can be either acute or chronic and the severity of the condition varies from mild to severe, potentially leading to complications like cirrhosis, liver failure and liver cancer.
Epidemiology: Hepatitis is one of the major public health concerns around the world.
Hepatitis has diverse epidemiology depending upon the causative agent, primarily viruses induce. As Hepatitis-A is more acute, common in areas with poor sanitation and hygiene. Hepatitis-B and C are chronic with millions affected worldwide leading to significant morbidity and mortality due to cirrhosis of liver and liver cancer. Hepatitis-D and E are less common but also contribute to the overall burden of viral hepatitis.
Etiological factors: They may be infective or non-infective.
Infective: viral- Hepatitis A, B, C, D, E
Cytomegalovirus, EBV
Non infective: Many drugs induce metabolic causes.
Clinical presentation: Condition characterised by liver inflammation, can vary widely from asymptomatic to severe.
Common symptoms include fatigue, jaundice, dark urine, pale stool, abdominal pain.
In addition, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, joint pain, fever, weakness may also be present.

Marital status: Married
Occupation: Farmer
Present complaint: Patient came with the complaint of Recurrent nausea with vertigo, pain in abdomen, weakness in general, pain in calves, burning in stomach, having weight loss.
History of present complaint: Patient was diagnosed with Hepatitis-B in January 2024 and Fatty degeneration of liver grade 1.
Past history: Not specific
Family history: Not specific
Treatment history: Previously not taken treatment for this condition.
Physical generals: Appetite- diminished (1-2 chapati/meal)
Thirst- 8-10 glass/day
Desire- not specific
Aversion- Curd
Perspiration- profuse but not offensive
Thermal- Ambithermal
Sleep- disturbed (4-5 hrs only, unrefreshing)
Tongue- brownish
Urine- sometimes yellowish
Stool- 1 time/day
Mental generals: Patient is sad from his disease condition
Has great anxiety about his family
Mood changes easily.

Discussion and conclusion:
This case is repertorised through synthesis repertory.
On the basis of repertorial analysis and totality of symptoms, Cocculus indicus 30c was selected and given for three days OD morning.

Placebo 200- HS for 1 month
Follow up: 25 October 2024
Cocculus 200- OD for 3 days
Placebo 30 -HS for 1 month
Follow up: 11 January 2025
Cocculus indicus 200- OD for 3 days
Placebo 30- HS for 1 month
The patient felt better overall from the previous condition both mentally and physically.
