Abstract

Pregnancy is a transformative physiological and psychological period in a woman’s life. Although often associated with joy and anticipation, many women experience significant anxiety, stress, and fear during pregnancy. These psychological disturbances arise due to hormonal changes, physical discomfort, fear of childbirth, social pressures, and concerns regarding fetal well-being. Studies indicate that approximately 15–25% of pregnant women experience clinically significant anxiety or stress, which can adversely affect maternal health and fetal development. Prenatal stress has been associated with preterm birth, low birth weight, and developmental problems in children. Homoeopathy, a holistic system of medicine, offers individualized remedies that address emotional and psychological symptoms without harmful pharmacological effects. This review discusses the prevalence, causes, manifestations, and consequences of anxiety, stress, and fear during pregnancy and highlights the homoeopathic approach and commonly indicated remedies for managing these conditions.
