Individualized Homoeopathic Treatment and Management of The Painful Menstruation: Dysmenorrhoea

Abstract:  

Dysmenorrhoea is a common gynaecological condition characterized by painful menstruation , especially among adolescent girls and young women. Homoeopathy offers a holistic and individualized approach in the treatment of dysmenorrhoea by considering a patient’s mental and physical symptoms. Homoeopathic remedies may help to reduce pain and its intensity and provide long term relief without harmful effects . 

Dysmenorrhoea is generally known as painful menstruation but a realistic and practical definition is painful menstruation of sufficient magnitude so as to incapacitate day-to-day activities 

They are of two types :

1] primary dysmenorrhoea ; where there is no identifiable pelvic pathology.

2] secondary  dysmenorrheoa ; when pain is occurring in the presence of pelvic pathology.

Aims and Objectives: To study dysmenorrhoea, its causes and symptoms diagnosis and management with special reference to homoeopathic treatment, to understand concepts and types of dysmenorrhoea to study its causes and risk factors identify common signs and symptoms and evaluate impact of dysmenorrhoea. An investigation on preventing measures of it and recovering the overall health.  

Introduction:  Dysmenorrhoea means painful menstruation.

Primary dysmenorrhoea is mostly confined to adolescents  almost always confined to ovulatory cycles and pain is related to dysrhythmic uterine contractions in which the pain is spasmodic confined to lower abdomen and may radiate to back and medial aspect of the thighs also includes systemic discomfort like nausea, vomiting, fatigue, diarrhea, headache, and tachycardia

AGE: MOSTLY ADOLESCENT

Treatment: psychotherapy in terms of explanation and assurance during menses bowel should be empty usual activities including sports.

Secondary dysmenorrhoea is also known as congestive dysmenorrhoea mostly caused by increased tension in pelvic tissues it can be caused by cervical stenosis, chronic pelvic infection, pelvic endometriosis, pelvic adhesion, adenomysis, uterine fibroid, endometrial polyp.                         

AGE: THIRTIES it includes dull pain situated in back and in front without any radiation that appears 3-5 days prior to period no systemic discomfort involved. It can be caused by the ovarian dysmenorrhoea, small fibroid polyp, right ovarian vein syndrome.

Diagnosis: CT scan MRI , trendeleberg position.

Prevention: eat healthy food and a balanced diet , drink plenty of water , maintain menstrual hygiene, proper sleep and rest, exercise.
