Impact of Modern Dietary Habits on Health of Young Individuals: A Homeopathic Perspective
Abstract
➢ Modernization has significantly changed dietary habits among young individuals. Increased consumption of fast foods, carbonated drinks, processed foods, excessive tea and coffee, fermented products, and preserved items has contributed to the rising incidence of lifestyle disorders, gastrointestinal disturbances, obesity, hormonal imbalance, psychological stress, and metabolic diseases. These dietary practices influence both physical and mental health and may alter the body’s susceptibility to chronic diseases. From the homeopathic perspective, prolonged unhealthy food habits may act as maintaining causes and contribute to miasmatic dyscrasia. This review discusses the etiological factors, pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, miasmatic interpretation, and homeopathic management related to modern food habits in young individuals.

Introduction
➢ Diet plays an essential role in maintaining health and preventing disease. In recent years, young individuals have increasingly adopted unhealthy dietary patterns due to urbanization, busy lifestyles, social media influence, and easy availability of processed foods. Consumption of fast food, preserved items, sugary beverages, and stimulants has become common among adolescents and young adults.
➢ These modern dietary habits adversely affect digestion, metabolism, hormonal balance, immunity, and mental well-being. Many chronic disorders observed in young age groups may be associated with persistent unhealthy eating patterns.
➢ Homeopathy considers diet as an important maintaining cause of disease. According to homeopathic philosophy, suppression of natural bodily functions and continuous exposure to unhealthy habits may predispose individuals to chronic miasmatic disorders.
