In a significant relief to homeopathy students, the Gujarat High Court has directed regulatory authorities to grant practice licenses and recognize degrees of students from seven homeopathy colleges that were facing approval disputes.
Justice Nirzar Desai observed that students admitted under earlier interim court orders since 2016 cannot be made to suffer due to unresolved conflicts between the institutions and regulatory bodies, including the Ministry of AYUSH and the National Commission for Homoeopathy.
The Court ordered authorities to issue Letters of Permission (LOPs), recognize the degrees awarded, and register the graduates, enabling them to legally practice. The ruling primarily benefits students from the 2016–17 batch onwards, whose academic futures were uncertain due to pending regulatory approvals.
Emphasizing the “larger interest of the students,” the Court ensured that administrative and technical disputes do not jeopardize the careers of aspiring homeopathic practitioners.
