Dr Rachna Paliwal is a prominent name in Homoeopathy and recently she has added another feather in her cap by being appointed as the Assistant Drug Controller (Homoeopathy) under Ayush vertical of CDSCO. It is noteworthy that she is the first and only Homoeopath to assume the full-fledged charge as a Central Assistant Drug Controller (Homoeopathy) in our country.
Under pursuance of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and Ministry of Ayush, a vertical structure of Ayush was created in Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) for the regulations of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homoeopathy Drugs in terms of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Rules thereunder. This post is under this new vertical structure.
In addition to her existing role as Assistant Adviser of Homoeopathy, she will now be responsible for various tasks as Assistant Drug Controller for Homoeopathy such as assisting in implementation of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Rules and Drugs and Magic Remedies Act and Rules related to ASU and H Drugs in a uniform manner, enforcement of relevant legal provisions, regulatory inspection for WHO-GMP/CoPP certification of manufacturing units and approval or licensing of laboratories.
A mother of two beautiful children, Dr Rachna is the epitome of hard work and resilience and continues to be an inspiration for all women in the field of Homoeopathy. Dr. Rachna Paliwal is a Post Graduate from the prestigious National Institute of Homoeopathy, Kolkata. She is the only Central Drug Inspector for Homoeopathy (Additional Charge) in India since 2017 and was designated as Assistant Drug Controller Homoeopathy (Additional Charge) in Ayush Vertical under CDSCO prior to her appointment in reference. Under the Ministry of Ayush she has been responsible for all technical and regulatory matters of the industry and has been deputed with matters pertaining to National Institute of Homoeopathy and Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy as well. She started her glorious career as a Homoeopathic Medical Officer in the State of West Bengal and as an Assistant Professor (on deputation) in The Calcutta Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital.
In a short span of her service in the Ministry and at a very young age, she has made herself conversant with the regulatory matters pertaining to Ayush drugs which comes from her zeal to work for the development and continuous improvement of AYUSH drugs as a whole and for Homoeopathy drugs in particular by addressing the quality and safety issues with her innovative ideas.
