Dr. Praful Barvalia, Founder, President of Spandan organization, is well known figure in the field of Homoeopathic Medicine, Education, Research and Public health.
Gold Medalist & M.D. in Homoeopathic Medicine, he is visiting professor in India and abroad.
Homoeopathic practice since 1983. He has pioneered holistic integrated research-based approach in developmental disability and mental health which is extremely popular. This is based on sound philosophical foundation of holistic concept of Homoeopathy as enunciated by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann & concept of child development as elaborated by Jean Piaget. This is known as Spandan’s Symphony.
Spandan conducts hospital and special school for children with developmental disabilities. Institute has been awarded as centre of excellence in Homoeopathic childcare and rehabilitation with special focus on AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER.
Research-He was principal investigator in Ayush sponsored extra mural research project on Autism. He has also conducted quality research in the field of Sensory Processing Disorders, ADHD, Thyroid Disorders, Mood disorder and HIV/Aids.

Under his leadership, Spandan has completed 21 projects. Followings are note worthy:
- The institute successfully carried out a challenging project under AYUSH- Public Health Initiative (PHI). “Homoeopathic Intervention In Maistream Schools & Community In Urban Slums For Children With Learning, Developmental & Mental Health Disorders” This is one of the largest school health project in of urban slums covering 5 lacs population. 11832 children were screened from municipal schools and 3300 were identified with disorders. They were treated with Homoeopathy with 75% showed positive changes.
- Project on fundamental Research: In collaboration with Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, conducted successfully project on fundamental Research: Enhanced Super Continuum Generation in Water In The Presence Of Ultra-Dilute Solutions. Findings were published in IJRH and also presented at the world Homeopathy Summit on Recent Advances in Scientific Research: by Global Homeopathy Foundation.
- Clinical Research project on Mood Disorder in Children: 581 school children in the age group of 9-16 years, studying in BMC schools of localities of Mumbai city Ramabai nagar were screened for depression using childhood depression inventory. The study was conducted for a time period of about 3 years. 53 children were found to be suffering from depression and were treated effectively through Homoeopathy. Paper was presented at INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE by Homoeopathic Liga organized in New Delhi on December 2011,
- Thyroid Disorders & Homoeopathy: Project conducted at CMP Homoeopathic medical college for 7 years in collaboration with radiation medicine centre TATA. Results were published in IJHM and Homoeopathic heritage.
