Book Review by Dr Satyajit Kuchar On Clinical Paediatrics

There are certain books through which we come to know about some authors and their work and then there are certain books which are perhaps the outcome of the demand of fraternity because the work of the author is already known. As a teacher, orator and above all an outstanding Homoeopath Dr. Ruchi Shirudkar is not an unknown name in Homoeopathic fraternity. Hence it is clear that this book as well as the author Dr.Ruchi belong to the second category.

Treating children is difficult and that too with applied mind methods is very difficult. Dr.Ruchi comes to the rescue here, blending the best of both worlds. However it must be strongly stated that her versatile practice extends far beyond paediatrics and applied mind. Few glimpses of the same are found in this book also. She does not only have a very liberal attitude towards various approaches and schools but she also has a very good hold over various approaches in Homoeopathy.

The name of the book is very appropriate as it is based on the clinical experiences of Dr.Ruchi and if the content of the book is grasped properly one may find it extremely useful in clinical practice and the results can be replicated several 

times as there is so much rational as we have artistic wisdom behind it.

This book is a complete package – from basic to advanced level of paediatric practice – from case taking to clinical tips – from Materia Medica to rubrics. From common paediatric conditions and to Autism spectrum disorders and ADHD – Dr. Ruchi offers all in a single treatise.

This book is not just a book, but rather a voyage of clinical paediatrics through case taking lessons, cases, materia medica, clinical tips, rubrics, the thought process and the approach behind it makes it a very engaging journey. After a long time I came across a book that felt like I should keep on reading it. The cherry on the cake is a message for students which reveals the arduous yet rewarding journey of Dr. Ruchi. I will only say that the message section is filled with  practical advice and positivity for students.
