Namaste and Good morning to everyone.
I am Dr. Anil Singhal, a practicing homeopathic physician from Gurugram, near New Delhi. I wish you all a very happy Boenninghausen Day, celebrated on 12th March, in true homeopathic spirit.
Born in 1785, Boenninghausen began his journey as a lawyer, scholar, and botanist. Later, he became a pioneering figure in the new art of homeopathic healing. Apart from Samuel Hahnemann himself, few have impacted homeopathic literature and practice as deeply as Boenninghausen.
Today, we honor his life and legacy—a legacy defined by innovation, dedication, and unwavering commitment to homeopathic principles. Boenninghausen’s contributions were groundbreaking and continue to guide us today. Often called the “father of homeopathic repertories,” his most famous work, the Therapeutic Pocketbook, was the first comprehensive homeopathic repertory. This revolutionary tool shaped the practice of great homeopaths like Kent and Boger.
Recently, the “Boenninghausen Boger Final General Repertory” was published, thanks to the dedicated efforts of Dr. Shashi Kant Tiwari, Dr. Sathish Kumar, and a team of scholars from Sarada Krishna Homoeopathic Medical College. Their work is an essential addition to our homeopathic knowledge.
My book, “Boger’s Legacy,” explores Dr. Boger’s enhancements to Boenninghausen’s methods and is now available through B. Jain Publishers.
Ultimately, Boenninghausen’s legacy urges us toward unity and the preservation of homeopathic wisdom. Let us commit to preserving and applying his teachings with the same passion he had. By doing so, we ensure his great legacy continues to evolve and inspire future generations.
On his 240th anniversary, the best tribute we can offer is to keep the flame of his knowledge burning brightly—in our hearts and in our healing work.
Thank you.
