Lucknow: The recruitment process for Ayush doctors under the National Health Mission (NHM) has drawn a good response, with over 2,800 applications received for 21 advertised posts. The screening of applications has commenced, but the date for interviews is yet to be finalised. The recruitment drive aims to hire doctors specialising in Ayurveda, Unani, and Homeopathy on a contractual basis. Among the applicants, the highest number are Ayurveda practitioners. Officials are dealing with the sheer volume of applications, making the selection process extensive.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr NB Singh stated that selected Ayush doctors would be deployed in community, primary, and district-level hospitals. “A large number of candidates have applied, and we are currently screening the applications. The interview schedule will be announced soon, and the recruitment process will be expedited,” he assured.
Dr Singh also emphasised that the recruitment is intended to enhance patient awareness about the benefits of Ayush treatment. “This initiative will benefit patients by providing them with free medicines and professional medical guidance,” he added.
