INTRODUCTION

An infection, irritation, or overuse can cause inflammation of the larynx, which is known as laryngitis.Your vocal cords are two folds of mucous membrane covering cartilage and muscle located inside the larynx. Your vocal cords normally vibrate and move smoothly to produce sounds as they open and close.
However, your vocal cords become irritated or inflamed when you have laryngitis. The sounds made by air moving over the vocal cords are distorted as a result of the vocal cords swelling. Your voice sounds raspy as a result. Your voice may nearly disappear in certain laryngitis situations.

As a Homoeopathic Physician, when any sick patient arrives at our doorstep, we have a big responsibility, that, the next time the patient arrives, he comes with a big smile on his face suggesting that her suffering was annihilated from the depth. It is this depth which has to be targeted, which can only be covered by the dynamic homoeopathic medicines which are custom tailored according to one’s individuality.

CONCLUSION

In the previous forty days, the patient had complained of hoarseness and voice loss. Based on the presenting problems and the patient’s history of presenting complaints, the diagnosis of acute laryngitis was made. Following a comprehensive case taking procedure and repertorization, Argentum metallicum was determined to be an indicated therapy.
Argentum metallicum was selected because, based on sector totality, it completely fit the patient’s illness picture.

This individualised approach of case taking along with infinitesimal dilution of 30C resulted in a wondrous speedy recovery of the patient. This case, again proves that Homoeopathic cure is an ideal cure as stated by Dr.Samuel Hahnemann in Aphorism 2 of Organon of Medicine, i.e. RAPID, GENTLE PERMANENT RESTORATION OF HEALTH.
