The Union Cabinet chaired by the prime minister, Mr Narendra Modi, approved the draft National Commission for Homoeopathy Bill, 2018, which aimed at replacing the Central Council for Homoeopathy (CCH), the current regulatory body for homoeopathy with a new body to ensure transparency.
The Homoeopathic draft bill provides for the constitution of National Commission with three autonomous boards entrusted to conduct overall education of Homoeopathy by the board for the same. The Bill calls for a common entrance test and exit exam for all graduates to get a practicing license. Further, a teacher’s eligibility test has also been proposed to assess the standards of teachers before appointment and promotions.
