MP Kirron Kher Flags off AYUSH Mobile Dispensary

The city received its first mobile dispensary of alternative medicine. The mobile dispensary has been introduced to treat patients through Indian medicine and therapies.Local Member of Parliament Kirron Kher flagged off the AYUSH mobile dispensary van during a function in Palsora village.She also promised to give funds for a similar mobile dispensary.The Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) mobile dispensary was built with a cost of Rs 23.25 lakh. Kher had issued funds under the Members of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD) scheme.While speaking on the occasion, Kher said the mobile dispensary would provide Ayurvedic and Homoeopathic treatment to residents of the city at their doorsteps.In the first phase, this service will be provided in those areas where dispensary services are not available, especially villages and colonies at peripheral areas of Chandigarh, Kher said.In the beginning, on alternate days ayurvedic and homoeopathic doctors and other paramedical staff will visit these areas and provide free consultation services and medicines to the patients.This platform will also be used to spread awareness among the public about strengths of AYUSH system of medicine. Initially, this van will visit Sarangpur, Faidaan and Palsora villages.A health awareness camp was also held to spread awareness of immunisation, family planning, non-communicable diseases and tuberculosis.Free consultation and medicines were provided to the patients by AYUSH doctors. Yoga consultation was also provided for promoting health.Director, Health and Family Welfare G Dewan and other senior officials from Health department were among those others present.
