ABSTRACT- Homeopathy is an alternative therapy that has been used over 200 years. Homeopathic remedies are used in dentistry to improve psychological or emotional condition. This article review for effectiveness homoeopathic remedies for application in dentistry. Dentistry has come a long time from past to present in providing dental care to patients. Dental surgeons keeping update for various treatment for root canal treatment, cosmetic filling, Dental transplantation. Most of the cases he realize is that associated with the dental disorder is the various system of body that works continuously for maintaining the dental health of the individual. Homoeopathic system of medicine recognized for safe and effective treatment so review of the role of homoeopathy in dentistry.

INTRODUCTION– Homoeopathy is the system of medicine on the basis of Individualization. It was presented by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843). In modern medicine the symptoms of are direct result of the disease and suppress them but the homoeopathy system of medicine concept the symptoms are sign of body which causes the disease in healthy individuals can also be used to cure similar symptoms in disease individuals. Homoeopathy is best application in dentistry. It is used for pain relief after surgeries and decrease inflammation of gums and bleeding.1 Homoeopathy used for the dental care does not depend only on modern practice and maintain the oral hygiene but also beneficial for the final outcome of the dental problems.2

HOMOEOPATHY PLAYS IN IMPORTANT ROLE IN DENTISTRY- The healthy

functioning of the salivary gland is dependent on the person’s overall health. The derangement of thyroid gland function could leads to secretion of abnormal thyroid hormones which results in damage to the periodontal ligament that hold teeth and gums together and the blood supply to gum tissue is decreased which results in different dental problems. Imbalance sex hormones during puberty, Pregnancy, Menopause make a person more susceptible for gums and teeth problems.3

Anemic patients more prone to gum problems due to decrease supply of blood to the gums of the oral cavity. The deficiency of calcium level in the body causes looseness of the teeth and decay

of the dental crown. The Homoeopathy play an important role results in treatment of deranged functions of the body and play a role in restoring dental health.

VARIOUS HOMEOPATHIC APPLICATIONS FOR USE IN DENTISTRY

FEAR OF GOING TO DENTIST: Aconite and Gelsemium are best medicine for fear of Dentist. Aconite also great remedy for pain. These medicine the application to reducing the fear of anxious patient. These medicine help to treatment for those children very anxious to saw the dentist.

INFLAMMATION: Arnica are best for the inflammation and trauma after dental surgery. This medicine application can be given post operating swelling and trauma. Kreosotum best medicine for teeth. Its help to reduce the pain during dentition, decay of teeth and bleeding gums.

NERVE PAIN: Hypericum works wonderfully for nerve pain due to post-operative surgery (tooth extraction or mucogingival surgery) and accidental facial trauma.

TOOTHACHE WITH ABSCESS: Belladonna is the best medicine for throbbing type of pain after dental surgery are more efficient remedy. Chamomilla another best medicine for toothache when warm is taken like coffee or other warm drink.

Heper sulph application to treat the abscess and suppuration. Hecla lava is another best medicine for toothache and abscess of gums, facial neuralgia from carious teeth and after extraction.

LOCAL ANAESTHESIA ANTIDOTE: Chamomilla is an excellent antidote when local anaesthetics are used for any dental treatment.

TOOTH CAVITY: Plantago is a remedy most beneficial when rubbed onto or around a tooth or teeth that are sensitive to hot or cold, or applied into cavity.

ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT: Ruta is valuable in patients undergoing orthodontic treatment. It was given after any adjustment of braces or wires and if the wires have cut into cheeks or lips which are very common during fixed and removable orthodontic treatment.

SEVERE GINGIVITIS: Arsenicum album, Ferrum phosphoricum and Sulpher were given to the patient with severe gingivitis.

HALITOSIS: Carboveg with Merc sol were given to patients to treat the bad smell of mouth during dental problems.

DISCUSSION- The result of this article that the patients suggest Homoeopathy definitely have placed in modern dental treatment. Homoeopathy is helpful on those cases which are not responding to conventional treatment. Homeopathic application can become important part of dental treatment and hence results is less discomfort to the patient, shorter period of recovery and patient feels better without side effects. Homoeopathy is best application post operative dental

surgery, Gingivitis, primary decay of the teeth, oral surgery, Periodontia, Orthodontia and other conservative dentistry.
