INTRODUCTION
Homoeopathy is one of the most frequently used complementary and alternative medicine, which uses highly diluted preparation prepared in a specific way unique to homoeopathy. Plants are major sources of homoeopathic medicines. The medicinal plants are rich in secondary metabolites and essential oils which are of therapeutic importance. About 70-80% of the world population, particularly in the developing countries, relies on non- conventional medicines in their primary health care as reported by the world health organization. It was believed that homoeopathic products are free from side effects. In Homoeopathy mother tincture are routinely prescribed for the treatment of wide variety of ailments such as Rauwolfia serpentina is used for high blood pressure, fever, sedation, stomach pain, skin problems and muscular problems. Ricinus communis Mother tincture is used to relieve the symptoms of vertigo, burning sensation in stomach, diarrhoea and in inflamed anus. Likewise the mother tincture of Bellis perennis is used for joint soreness, muscle soreness, soreness of abdominal wall and uterus, and in diarrhoea. Similarly, the mother tincture of Terminalia arjuna is used in various diseases of heart, angina pectoris, suffocation vertigo and gonorrhoea. These mother tinctures are prescribed for the treatment of analgesia and arthritis. In homeopathy we know approximately thirty remedies which are useful in the therapy of Hodgkin. The main remedies are Acidum arsenicosum, Calcium fluoricum, Ceanothus, Kali salts, Natrium chloratum, Scrophularia nodosa and many more. S. jambolanum has highest antioxidant potential.{10}In the present study, mother tincture of homoeopathic drugs S. jambolanum, F.religiosa, O.sanctum, A. cepa, T. occidentalis, H. antidysenterica and E. globulus were evaluated against the growth of human pathogenic fungi C. albicans. Viscum album can be considered as a good choice to regulate blood pressure as well as to lower serum triglyceride levels. The chemical characterization of Viscum album is different from those drugs used in the modern system of medicines and it putatively acts through calcium channels, which could be modulated by other drugs that could lead to synergism. The therapeutic properties of T. occidentalis mother tincture were best noted in orally administered medium and high doses, which succeeded in inhibiting the inflammatory process induced in the intestine, most probably based on its rich contents of flavonoids and phenolic compounds.
