“Estrogen” Role in Women’s Body or How to Increase Estrogen in Female

Estrogen is a steroid hormone which maintains the female’s secondary sex character and sex organs such as, mammary gland uterus, vagina, and fallopian tubes, of mammalian females. Lack of estrogen in female; demineralization of bone occurs which become a risk factor to elderly women. Some of the risks due to lack of estrogen are, hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, mood swings/irritability, memory or concentration problems, vaginal dryness, heavy bleeding, fatigue, depression, hair changes, headaches, heart palpitations, sexual disinterest, urinary changes, weight gain. There is even the chance to get breast cancer if the estrogen level drops.

Premature menopause maybe caused by some factors, smoking, radiation, hereditary, chemotherapy, endocrine disorder, surgical procedure which interrupts the blood supply to ovary. Estrogen loss besides heart disease and osteoporosis may cause colon cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, tooth loss, impaired vision, Parkinson’s disease and diabetes. Early menopause involves a great health risk.

Estrogen production decreases, less blood flow to the ovarian walls. Due to declination of estrogen production creates wide changes to body tissue which are in respond to estrogen, such as vagina, vulva, uterus, bladder, urethra, breasts, bones, heart, blood vessels, brain, skin, hair, and mucous membranes. If a woman faces long term lack of estrogen she may suffer from osteoporosis and heart disease.

According to a research, early menopause in women risks Ischemic strokes. It is one of the most common types of stroke experienced by the women in the United States. The findings of the research revealed that four to five percent of the strokes is due to low estrogen level leading to menopause. However the exact relation between early menopause and estrogen risks is still yet to be explained as the evidences found are quite conflicting. Thus it is quite early to even suggest women to adopt hormonal replacement therapy. Only a handful of women experience early menopause.

Women should consult a doctor during their menopause to get rid of their upcoming problems and find a better solution. Yoga to some extent can help in easing menopausal symptoms by uniting the mind, body, and spirit to create balance. Some yoga positions can ease problems like hot flashes, mood swings, vaginal and urinary problems. Good diet also relieves early menopausal problems, food like raw foods, fruits, fresh vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, and fresh vegetable juices help women to fight with early menopausal problems.
