Job Summary
We, Atharva Scientific Publications, are publishing few medical journals which are published in the online and print format. We are looking dedicated and experienced persons for the post of full-time Medical Writer and Editor to support the successful running of our journals. We want to start various author services such as to prepare manuscripts from the thesis or write a scientific paper, paraphrasing, formatting, and proofreading/ editing services etc.
The candidate having experience in the healthcare/ pharmacy/ biomedical/ biology/ homeopathy/ dental or medical fields would be preferred. Acceptable candidates will be asked to serve as back-up to the lead editor and to be “on-call” for work with quick turnarounds during working hours.
The Medical Editor will work closely with the subject matter experts to edit the content with the highest accuracy, clarity, and consistency. The candidate is responsible for applying various referencing styles and becoming familiar with the client requirements and guidelines. The medical editor will apply proper formatting to all the jobs before submission (references, outlines, headings, tables, and figures).
Job Type / Category

  • Should be fluent in English. he/she should be able to write concisely and in good English.
  • Should know how to search the literature (e.g. PubMed) for the desired documents or willing to learn quickly all these skills.
  • Edit specific projects as per the assignment (various journal articles such as original research, review article, case report, or outlines, presentations, blogs, etc.). Responsible for correcting grammar, punctuation, and spelling mistakes.
  • Articles should be absolutely plagiarism free and should not be copied from the online sources as it is. Candidate should use only authentic scientific information from the reputed medical journal or books to write their articles.
  • Responsible for the clarity, consistency, and accuracy of all the jobs assigned.
  • Be aware of various referencing styles or should be willing to learn all these skills.
  • Fact-checking, editing, and proofreading of all the documents.
  • Work with editorial staff to incorporate changes to the written materials. He/ she should be ready to accept the criticism/ and answer to queries raised by the clients/editors.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required and preferably, in bio-medical related fields. Prior experience in content writing and editing is must and candidate should give details of prior experience in medical writing and editing.
  • Candidate should have expertise in English grammar and syntax. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office products (PowerPoint, Excel, and Word) as well as internet use.
  • Candidate should have experience in designing software use such as Corel draw; Indesign, etc. or should be ready to learn these things.
  • Candidate with prior experience of writing/ editing in a medical/healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Ability to work well in a remote team environment and to work independently.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: ₹12,000.00 to ₹15,000.00 /month
