THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A major achievement for the state, after getting a special mention in the Economic Survey 2018-19, issued by the Department of Economic Affairs, Department of Finance, the Homeopathy Janani Program has attracted national attention for the treatment of infertility.
According to the report, this scheme has popularized the system of homoeopathy for infertility. Health Minister K.K. Shailaja said that this was a great achievement for the Department of Homeopathy. And said that the government is committed to the expansion of the program.
Shailaja said, “Many programs were started on a pilot basis in Kannur District Homoeo Hospital. After its grand success, the government started the program on a statewide basis.”
According to the minister, more than 18,000 patients had been treated by the Janani centres and so far, 978 mothers gave birth to healthy babies. At the same time, it has been revealed that the state government has started the process of upgrading the Janani Center in Kannur as a Center of Excellence.
