Beacons From Our Leaders Of Homoeopathy

Homoeopathy will not be universally adopted for many centuries . There are many people in the world who can not believe a great truth however much evidence is presented in its favor . We are all cncumbered with tradition , unbelief in new things is our strongest tendency . The tendency to ridicule what we do not understand is born in us .All who really love homoeopathy have an unlimited desire to teach it to associates and to their patients they are often astonished that the door is closed to their willing efforts –J.T.Kent (source ;the homoeopathic word , sept.66-p.61)

“I do not select any remedy any differently in curable and incurable cases . I am firmly convinced that a doctor who can not select medicine closely enough to cure curable cases should be trusted in no class of cases . The homoeopathic physician does not know that his cases are incurable and he selects the remedy and that remedy palates the suffering of the patient incurable cases and cures the patient in curable ones . The physician is a homoeopath or he is not “ .

It is fortunate that the physicians who repeat while the remedy is acting are such poor prescribes or their death list would be enormous –“J.T.Kent ( source: Ibid, march 61 p.38)

“Nothing leads the physician to failure so certainly as classification . the physician who prescribes on a diagnosis is a failure , except for his chance shots , Individualization is the aim of every homoeopathic physician . The symptoms that represent the morbid constitution or disorder of the individual are the ones that the skilful prescriber always seeks , symptoms that are uncommon in one constitution are common in another , because such uncommon symptoms are common to some diseases and uncommon to others –J.T.Kent (lesser writings first Ind ,Ed , p.213)

The homoeopathic law establishes a definite relation not only between proved drugs and known diseases but between all the unexplored medical wealth and undeveloped requirements of sickness , like the law of gravitation , the law of cure as taught by Hahnemann is not and can not be limited to a small group of conditions ; the limitations rest entirely with our ignorance . Hahnemann  and his followers constitute the only group of medical philosophers who have always been true to the inductive method of reasoning based upon known facts , they have established this law of therapeutics –H.A.Roberts (the principles and art of cure by homoeopathy –p.92to93).

Objects and their changes as observed and recognized by conceiving the impressions of the senses (perceptions) increase and become more complex . In adoption to order and master them reasoning processes have to reach further and further , both receptive observing and conceptive ordering have to work hand in hand to produce knowledge . In climbing the rope of knowledge at one time the one hand at another time the other hand may reach higher ; observation may be ahead of understanding for a while , then be grasped by reasoning ; may be ahead and its predictions be confirmed later by observation , both work of scientific knowledge .

Scientific knowledge but only together do they make knowledge science –O.Leeser (the contributionof homoeopathy to the development of medicine ,p-16&17)

Dr Hahnemann wrote:
Homoeopathy knows that a cure can only take place by the reaction of the vital force against the rightly chosen remedy that has been ingested and that the cure will be certain and rapid in proportion to the strength with which vital force still prevails in the patient .

Hence homoeopathy avoids everything in the slightest degree enfeebling and as much a possible every excitation of pain for pain also diminishes the strength etc., it follows that when the vitality sinks to a very low level , homoeopathy is almost powerless . so it is necessary to consider if any thing can be done to raise the vitality

The similimum itself given in the so called physiological dose , not to produce the physiological action may some times be the minimum dose necessary to raise the vitality necessary to effect the cure .

Dr Hahnemann arrived at the final conclusion that the proper dose is always the least possible dose which will effect a cure .

Dr Hahnemann wrote :-

Now what would be a large injurious or perhaps dangerous dose for a highly susceptible patient would have no effect whatever upon one whose power to react was very low by reason of the existence of gross pathological lesions or long existent , exhausting chronic disease and much previous treatment ( Dr.Stuart Close ) . In terminal conditions there fore when the patient does not react to well selected remedies nor to inter current reaction remedies given in potentised form and small doses resort to the crude drug and increase the dose to the point of reaction (Dr.Close).

This does not violate the principle of minimum dose necessary to bring about reaction . the homoeopathic physician used to employing high potencies may be “ too prejudiced “ and “too timid” too ignorant to see that a terminal case may call for material doses .

Occasionally an allopath is called in ; he does what the should have the common sense to do namely give the indicated remedy in the stronger doses require . the allopath gives stronger doses of perhaps some crudely homoeopathic and gets the honor , the family and the emolument while the homoeopath gets the laugh , on the other hand there are numerous instances where after long allopathic treatment that proved futile , a single homoeopathic dose in the highest potency brought about a marvellous cure .
