1.Introduction :
-Also called: acne inversa
– A chronic skin condition featuring lumps in places such as the armpits or groin.
-The skin lesions develop as a result of inflammation and infection of sweat glands.
-It is childhood predictive disease.
2.Diagnosis & triggers :
The exact cause of hidradenitis suppurativa isn’t known. It develops when hair follicles in the skin become blocked. Experts think it could be connected to hormones, inherited genes and immune system problems. Smoking, excess weight and metabolic syndrome also might play a role.
This condition features pea- to marble-sized lumps under the skin that can be painful and tend to enlarge and drain pus. They usually occur where skin rubs together, such as in the armpits, groin and buttocks.
3.Symptoms :
Skin: lumps, rashes, rashes that look like acne, small bump, or ulcers
Also common: abscess, body odour, excess sweating, itching, pimple or blackhead, pus, or swelling.
4.Treatment :
-Medication, warm compresses, corticosteroid injections and sometimes surgery can help manage symptoms.
medication : antibiotic ( by oral : clindamycin, rifampin and doxycycline & Cream :clindamycin and gentamicin )
medical procedure : incision & drainage, carborn dioxide laser and sometimes wide local excision .
5.Prevention :
-achieve a healthy weight.
-wear loose-fitting clothes.
-take warm baths.
-do not shave affected areas.
-clean affected areas daily with antibacterial soap.
-avoid smoking.
