After the essay that I posted last night, this is going to be short and to the point, as I want to get this information out to the community as soon as possible. Last night, I figured out that the virus is affecting the Central Nervous System – specifically the medulla. The medulla, being the part of the brain that attaches to the spinal column, is responsible for several functions of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) which include:
- The control of ventilation via signals from the carotid and aortic bodies; the control of respiration by chemoreceptors. If these sensors detect changes in the acidity of the blood, the medulla oblongata sends electrical signals to intercostal and phrenic muscle tissue to increase their contraction rate and increase oxygenation of the blood, creating pain and respiratory distress.
- Cardiovascular center – sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system.
- Vasomotor center – baroreceptors.
- Reflex centers of vomiting, coughing, sneezing, and swallowing. These reflexes are termed bulbur reflexes, and they include the pharyngeal reflex, the swallowing reflex, and the masseter reflux. Presumably, the virus travels to the brainstem via the olfactory nerve. These nerves travel directly into the brain through the roof of the nose. This is likely the reason that so many people with Covid-19 are experiencing anosmia and ageusia, loss of smell and taste (much of taste is based on reception of food odor). The virus may be damaging this nerve on the way to the medulla. It is known that damage to the olfactory nerve receptors is connected to respiratory infections. As the medulla is triggered by an acidic state of the blood, and a collapsed state is characteristic of the illness. Additionally, acids are helpful to break down the thick, tenacious mucus, like the hydrochloric acid if the mucus reaches the stomach. Many acid remedies are important in treatment of Covid-19: Phosphoric acid, Nitricum acid, Sulphuric acidum, Muriatic acid, and perhaps most importantly, Hydrocyanicum acid. Hydra-ac is made from Cyanide, a highly toxic neurotoxin that specifically targets the medulla.
General, collapse, sudden: Hydro-ac
From Farrington: “Hydrocyanic acid acts upon the cerebro-spinal nervous system, and particularly upon the medulla and upper portion of the spinal cord. It produces convulsions which are very much like those of the fully-developed epileptic attack. It is also useful in convulsions during severe attacks of illness, when the face is blue, and the prostration is very great. There are gasping breathing, clutching at the heart, and livid color of the surface of the body. You may also give Hydrocyanic acid for very severe cases of prostration, with approaching paralysis of the brain and lungs, and when there is gurgling from the throat to the stomach when swallowing. In cholera, Hydrocyanic acid is to be placed by the side of CAMPHOR, being indicated in marked collapse with sudden cessation of all discharges, as vomiting and purging. Hydrocyanic acid may be given for the cough of heart disease when it is a reflex from organic changes in the heart.”
Hydro-ac could be especially helpful for those patients who have experienced a sudden extreme collapse and are in respiratory, cardiac, and in some cases, neurological distress. I am also aware of cases of sudden continuous seizures. (Interestingly, Gelsemium is noted in the repertory as a remedy for the medulla and motor nerves.)
I suggest that my homeopathic colleagues please flush out this remedy further and consider it as an important remedy for their patients, along with the other remedies that are being used by the community at larte. As of yet, we have given it to one patient, today, who is in severe distress and has not responded to Camphora, Bryonia, Antimonium tart, Stannum met, or any of the remedies that have commonly been suggested.
I will be following up soon with information on the trituration proving of Malus domestica (Apple), which I participated in last year in a seminar with Alize Timmerma, as the seed of the apple contains cyanide. The larger themes are resonant with what is happening today in the world. I have heard that Jeremy mentioned in his webinar that a specific craving for apple juice is emerging as an SRP. Perhaps Malus dom. (and other cyanide containing Rosaceae remedies) can be tried prophylactically, and with active cases that are less severe than when Hydro-ac is required. Or, it may be used to finish up the healing, as it will address the deeper psoric miasm. I also suggest trying the Medulla oblongata sarcode in low potency as an organ support.
Please keep me abreast to any use you may have with these ideas and remedies.
Many thanks and best of luck.
