International Conference Held On Homoeoprophylaxis: A Worldwide Choice For Disease Prevention

The 3rd International Conference on “Homoeoprophylaxis: A Worldwide Choice for Disease Prevention” (HPWWC) was held on 11th and 12th January 2020 at Hotel Radisson Blu, Dwarka, New Delhi, India. The motto of the conference was to discuss the scientific evidence for the prophylactic use of homoeopathic medicines.
The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Anil Baijal, inaugurated the conference on its 1st day. While delivering the inaugural address, he said that the need of the hour, to uplift Homoeopathy and prove its role in epidemic diseases, is to strengthen the research infrastructure of the Homoeopathic institutions all over India which need to undertake research projects of public health importance. Baijal said, “In the last few decades, basic researches in homoeopathy have reached incredible heights. However, there is a need to combine innovative research strategies to conduct focussed evidence-based research. The research infrastructure of Homoeopathic Institutions in Delhi should also be strengthened in undertaking research projects of public health importance. Today, the world at large and India, in particular, is facing challenges of several outbreaks of diseases like Dengue, Chikungunya, Malaria, Encephalitis, Diarrhoea and Gastroenteritis among others where there are no effective vaccines in allopathy, Homoeopathic researchers should work to find out the solutions to these diseases based on modern scientific parameters,” adding that, he said, “In Delhi, we have created an admirable infrastructure in the form 106 Homoeopathic Dispensaries, 2 medical colleges namely Nehru Homoeopathic Medical Colleges and Dr B R Sur Homoeopathic Medical College. About 1.8 million patients are treated every year in these facilities.”
The Key Speakers included Mrs. Cathy Lemmon, President HPWWC; Dr Isaac Golden from Australia; Dr Gustavo Braco from Cuba. Dr Martin de Munch from the Netherlands, Governing member of HPWWC, graced his presence at the conference. The conference really came up with its theme – “Evidence and Education – The Keys to Change” and highlighted the role of homoeopathic non-toxic alternative to disease prevention.
More than 250 delegates from many nations, including experts from allied sciences supporting Homoeopathy, attended the conference. Discussions were made on Homoeoprophylaxis with actual supportive evidence and data.
Topics discussed included use of homoeopathy in epidemics, legal issues related to homoeoprophylaxis, toxicity of nosodes, homoeopathy in prevention of dengue-research evidences, molecular mechanism of NHF-1 during Japanese Encephalitis, efficacy of B.C.T. in the prevention of Japanese Encephalitis in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Homoeoprophylaxis for Infectious Bronchitis in Broiler, Universality of the Principle of Homoeopathic Prophylaxis, etc.
