Tetanus Toxoid Vaccine replaced with Tetanus and Adult Diphtheria Vaccine in the Universal Immunization Programme

As per recommendation of the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (NTAGI), the Government of India has decided to replace Tetanus Toxoid (TT) vaccine with Tetanus and Adult Diphtheria vaccine (Td) in the Universal Immunization Programme. The new vaccine will give protection against both tetanus and diphtheria in adults.
