BENGALURU: It was a silent 71st birthday for Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, who celebrated with his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, at an International Holistic Health Center near Whitefield, Bengaluru.

Prince Charles arrives at HAL Airport in the afternoon of 14th November to celebrate his birthday with Camilla and five of her friends, who are holistic health consultant Dr Isaac Mathai was at Soukya International Holistic Health Center for five days of alternative medicine.

The centre specializes in Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Homeopathy and various types of indigenous medicine to treat and cure various diseases. It is a popular destination for international VIPs and sports celebrities.

Camilla has been in Soukya since 11 November and the two reportedly wanted some quiet time together and have chosen to be there for Prince Charles’s birthday on Thursday. The low-key birthday celebration was followed by a private dinner.

Mathai has been a holistic health consultant for the British royal family for over 10 years. This is Camilla’s sixth visit to the centre. This is Prince Charles’s first visit to the centre. Prince Charles loves the centre because it matches his love for organic farming and environmentally friendly practices. He also wrote a book on alternative medicine and organic farming.

Interestingly, Mathai has also visited Prince Charles’s 2,000-acre organic farm. He is also the patron of the Faculty of Homeopathy in the UK. The couple is said to have had only South Indian vegetarian food and was staying in the President’s room. The centre serves idli, dosa and soup for breakfast as the couple are fond of these dishes.

According to police sources, the couple has been provided additional security by the Bangalore Rural Police. “This is a protocol that is followed and we have increased security around the health centre,” said a senior official. Police said the couple would leave on November 16 and only after that would the centre talk to the media about the royal couple’s stay.

Police sources said that the Duchess is likely to visit Bengaluru for treatment of her chest infection.
