Hyderabad: The government will set up Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) hospitals in all the districts of the country in the next three-four years, Union Minister Shripad Yesso Naik said on Sunday.
He said that Ayush hospitals in the age group of more than 100 have been completed and proposals are coming from the state governments and in the next three-four years, Ayush hospitals will be built in all districts.
The Minister of State for AYUSH told reporters during an event here, “We have brought a scheme, in which AYUSH hospitals will be considered Ayurveda. Unani will be established in each district as per requirement.”
Speaking earlier, following the inauguration of the National Research Institute of Unani Medicine for Skin Disorder, which was upgraded here from the Central Institute of Unani Medicine, Naik said the institute gained a worldwide reputation for successful treatment of vitiligo and other chronic It is a matter of happiness that stubborn diseases.
“It is perhaps the only medical institution in the world that has treated more than 1.5 lakh patients of vitiligo alone and has developed several drugs for effective and safe treatment of the disease,” he said.
He said that the products, practice and practice of AYUSH systems in the country are well regulated.
He said that India has been able to achieve substantial integration through traditional facilities in primary health and community health centres and district hospitals as well as co-location of AYUSH facilities.
The government has taken several steps, including the integration of AYUSH into the health delivery system, Naik said, “Our efforts have been focused on harnessing the real potential of AYUSH systems in providing preventive, publicity and holistic healthcare to the people.” “
He further said that the government is providing protection and funds for multidimensional development of Unani system of medicine as well as other Ayush system.
“In India, we have a good infrastructure of Unani system of medicine and currently there are 55 educational institutes that provide Unani medical education. 14 of them are conducting MD programs,” Naik said.
The Ayush system is meant to enhance the total health of man, i, e. Social, mental and physical well-being, he said.
