NEIH Organizes A Seminar On Homeopathy Focuses On Modern Features

Shillong: North Eastern Institute of Ayurveda and Homeopathy (NEIH), Shillong – an autonomous institute under the Ministry of AYUSH of the Government of India – organized a one-day regional seminar-cum-workshop on the ‘Problems and Prospects of Homoeopathic Education in North-East India’. North-East India ‘in the campus of the Institute in Madiangdiang on Saturday.

The seminar-cum-program started with a scientific session presented by four faculties of NEIAH on various subjects related to the subject for the workshop.

After this, at the inaugural ceremony where the NEIAH Director Prof. (Dr.) PK Goswami gave the welcome address.

Padmashri Pro (Dr.) VK Gupta, Chairman, Scientific Advisory Committee, CCRH, New Delhi attended as the Chief Guest on this occasion; Dr RK Manchanda, Deputy Director, Senior Administrative Grade, Government as the special guest and resource person of NCT, Delhi; Pro. (Dr.) Gautam Ash, Head of the Department of Anatomy, National Institute of Homeopathy, Kolkata, as an invited guest and resource person.

The chief guest highlighted the global landscape of homoeopathy and the “golden era of the system” in the present state. He added a note to the need for introspection and retrospective in solving these issues with current problems and suggestions for improvement.

After the national anthem for the conclusion of the inauguration ceremony, a vote of thanks was given by the Deputy Director of NEIAH, Kimchin Langum.

After the inauguration ceremony was the second session, where two prominent personalities of the Homeopathic system gave their lectures. Pro. (Dr.) Gautam Ash talked about the challenges and problems in homoeopathic medical education, the eligibility of teachers, taking the case in homoeopathy and standard format of follow-up documentation and the need for implementing ‘quality research’ from undergraduate. Of level, Dr RK Manchanda highlighted the shortcomings in the current BHMS and MD curriculum, CCRH in research, public health, prevention of disease and education related to linking education.

The program was concluded with a statutory session where Nilanjan Sanyal (Retired IAS), Chairman, Board of Governors, CCH, New Delhi attended as the Chief Guest on this occasion. He said that homoeopathy awareness is very high in the North-Eastern states and the improvement is going on and the future of homoeopathy is bright in the form of NEIAH because a model institute is progressing rapidly in short duration.

Thanksgiving proposal was given after the national anthem by the organizing secretary.
