Puducherry: Central Health and Family Welfare Ministry and AYUSH Ministry, New Delhi have selected Advance Center for Yoga Therapy Education and Research (ACYTER) in the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) as one of the nodal centres. Country for the official celebration of 5th International Yoga Day in Pondicherry.
According to a Jipmer release on Saturday as part of Fifth International Yoga Day, ACYTER, JIPMER is organizing a 15-day Special Free Yoga Training Camp for JIPMER employees and students from June 7 to 21.
During this yoga camp, participants are trained to learn and practice common yoga protocols, which include basic asanas, pranayama and Suryanamaskar prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH.
The entire yoga training program is being organized in ACYTER, which is on the fourth floor of JIPMER Academic Center. This year, the AYUSH Ministry has given guidelines for organizing International Yoga Day on June 21, which includes the practice of general yoga program in the morning.
JIPMER Director Dr Rakesh Agarwal is the Chief Protector and Dr R. P. Swaminathan, Dean (Academic) and Dr A.S. Bound, the Medical Superintendent, ACYTER, is the patron of the International Yoga Day celebration in JIPMER.
