Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik said that in addition to an allopathist doctor in every primary health centre (PHC) in the country, a doctor from alternative medicine would be a doctor. Nike said that doctors of Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani and Siddha streams will be kept in government-run Ph.C.
Nike said, “In all Ph.C. of the country, now AYUSH doctor will be in addition to allopathy doctors.” He said that through this kind of measures people will be introduced to alternative medicine.
The MP from North Goa said, “Right now, there is a doctor from allopathy stream in primary health centres, but now there will also be a doctor from Ayurveda, Greek, Siddha or Homeopathy.
Naik said that his ministry will establish 2,500 Ayurveda Welfare Centers across the country during the first phase of Ayushman Bharat Scheme, which was first introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“We have a quota of setting 1.12 lakh AYUSH Welfare Centers across the country under this scheme. In the first phase, we will establish 2500 centres. Nike said that his ministry is in the process of setting up 150 AYUSH Hospitals, for which the Center will provide the funds. “We have to make the AYUSH infrastructure so that people know about its benefits. We can not refuse people to go for these medicines unless we present them at the door of their house, “he said.
