Goa BJP leader Shripad Naik said on Friday that his second stint as Minister of State (Independent) for AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) will help in continuing the projects of the Ministry.
Mr Naik was thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he was also appointed as Minister of State for Defense.
“I have already been an AYUSH minister. As far as continuity is concerned, my second stint in the same ministry will help me. I will focus on completing fast-moving projects. I will also start new schemes for yoga and alternative medicine, “he said in a message to the people of Goa immediately after the announcement of his portfolio.
Asked whether he will again organize defence-related programs like a defence expo in Goa, he said, “I will see that Goa gets the maximum benefit from both the ministries.”
While Manohar Parrikar was the defence minister in 2014-17, the DefExpo was held in Goa. However, it was moved out of state the coming year.
