Ayush Club in MGMGH to Provide One-Stop Solution for Patients

Mahatma Gandhi memorial government hospital (MGMGH) campusTrichy: Ayush club, a one-stop solution for diseases through ayurveda, yoga and naturopathy, unani, siddha and homoeopathy was inaugurated by the Indian medicine and homoeopathy department on the Mahatma Gandhi memorial government hospital (MGMGH) campus on Thursday. Practitioners from all the five branches of medicine will be available at the club in the Indian medicine block from 3pm to 5pm on Fridays.

“The club is aimed at providing solutions through treatments to chronic diseases besides clearing their doubts on the diseases and the treatment methods,” said district siddha medical officer (DSMO), Trichy Dr S Kamaraj.
Patients can get tips about food habits and lifestyle changes to stay away from diseases through Ayush, said the DSMO. The club will also provide psychology counselling and tips for stress management.
 

Chronic disease patients can become members free of cost. They will be given preference in specialised treatments. Patients can enrol themselves as members of the club through the siddha staff nurse in the hospital.

Ayush club will offer specialised treatment methods – Varma, Thokkanam, Panchakarma, Navarakizhi, Attai vidal, Pattikattal, mud bath, steam bath, spinal bath and cupping therapy.
It may be recalled that the department started a combined treatment section for treating autism patients in September 2017. Both the internal medication and external therapy will be given to the autism children through the four branches – siddha, ayurvedha, yoga and naturopathy and homoeopathy in a combined manner. Patients can visit the centre from 8am to 12 noon and 3pm to 5pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
Prior to that, the department of Indian medicine and homoeopathy launched Varma Clinic in July 2017. They claimed that Varma treatment will be effective for PCOD, neck pain, cervical spondylosis , lumbar pain and osteo arthritis. The department claims it can cure any type of pain without any pain killers besides even giving a best relief to the diabetics.
