Merida (Mexico) Conference Seeks to Increase Homeopathy Usage: October 8, 2017

Homeopathy experts are meeting in Merida to discuss important issues in their field….
MERIDA — With the aim of reactivating the School of Homeopathic Doctors of Yucatan and spreading the importance of this therapeutic method in the country, the XXXVIII National Congress of Homeopathic Medicine is being held for the first time in Merida.
The event organized by the College of Homeopathic Physicians, Surgeons and Midwives A. C. “Dr. Higinio G. Pérez” is bringing together about 100 homeopathic doctors from the country through Saturday Oct. 8 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel. The event was to be inaugurated by the Vice-Secretary of Health, Federico Navarro.
At a press conference held at the offices of the Secretariat of Tourism Development (Sefotur), Dr. Carlos Hernández Chanona, president of the organizing college, and Carlos Aguilar Chan, president of the national congress to be held, spoke about the importance of homeopathic medicine as an alternative to health deeply rooted in society throughout the country.
They emphasized that Yucatan was one of the first states to have a school of homeopathic physicians, contributing to the rise of homeopathy in the 1920s.
They commented that for several reasons the homeopathy school disappeared here in Yucatan, although the practice continues to be offered through professionals who study in other schools, mainly in Mexico City.
In Mexico City are located the “Free School of Homeopathy of Mexico” that gives the career of Homeopathic Physician, Surgeon and Midwife, and the National Polytechnic Institute, which offers the career of Medical Surgeon and Homeopath; there are also more private schools that offer these specialties.
Homeopathy is considered a curative method of some diseases that is based on the application of small amounts of substances that, if applied in large proportions to a healthy individual, would produce the same symptoms that are intended to combat. He argues that a substance that causes the symptoms of a disease in healthy people will cure it similarly in sick people.
The conference will offer about 30 papers with topics such as: Advances in homeopathic research, Homeopathic Pharmacodynamics, Current state of teaching in homeopathy in Mexico, and Ecology and homeopathy, among others.
The inauguration of the event was to take place Thursday October 5 at 10 a. m. at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
The registration fee is $3,800 and includes welcome cocktail, work material, academic sessions, diploma with Curricular Value, gala dinner, national drinks and congress yearbook. The activities run from 9 am and end at 6 pm.
