AYUSH Mission not Established in Bihar in Spite of Central Government Instruction

Patna: The status of Ayurveda, Homeopathic and Unani medicine has become very pathetic due to the absence of Ayush Mission in the province. In the year 2011, the central government had instructed the state government to constitute Ayush Mission in the state. But in the last six years, Ayush Mission has not been formed in the state. The development of Ayurveda and homeopathic medicine in the province has completely stalled.
According to the plan prepared by the central government, the AYUSH Mission will also act as a health mission. Yoga is to be developed in addition to Ayurveda, Homeopathic, Unani system in the state through Ayush Mission. As the mission is not formed, the situation of homeopathic colleges of the state is also becoming very pitiable. It is known that there are 15 homoeopathic colleges in the province. Apart from this, five Ayurvedic colleges are in the public sector, but their pace of development has stalled.
According to Dr AN Singh, Chairman of Homoeopathic Association, the Central Government has constituted AYUSH Ministry to promote Ayush. But due to apathy of the state government, the pace of AYUSH has stagnated in the state. Health department experts say that the amount of 20 crores has been raised in the department for AYUSH development. There are five government Ayurvedic colleges in the state, but only one State Ayurvedic College of Patna is running.The remaining four Ayurvedic colleges are closed. In addition to Patna, Ayurvedic colleges were operated in Begusarai, Darbhanga, Bhagalpur and Buxar, but currently four colleges are closed. In addition to the government’s five colleges, four private colleges are also in the state, but their condition is also not good. Apart from this, the position of the Unani-based university is not well. There is no college in the government sector for Siddha and yoga in the province. Now everyone looks towards the health department that when AYUSH Mission is formed and Ayurveda and Homeopathy develop?
