Earlier, general and Other Backward Class candidates between 17 years and 25 years of age were eligible to apply and a relaxation of five years was given to those from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Prof Naveen Khare, the state coordinator for CPAT 2017, said only those students who have a domicile in Uttar Pradesh will be given admission in government and aided colleges. Candidates, who have passed their high school and intermediate examination both from UP, are not required to submit the certificate of domicile. Applicants, who have cleared either their high school or intermediate from UP, will have to provide the residence certificate issued by the appropriate authority for seeking admission in government and aided colleges. The certificate (1 Ka) will be required at the time of counselling as per the brochure. Candidates from other states are eligible to take admission in self-financed and private colleges across Uttar Pradesh, Khare added. They will also have to provide the domicile certificate issued by the appropriate authority. Students can submit the online application form for CPAT-2017 by September 25, the last date for submitting the applications. The entrance test is proposed to be held on October 4, 2017, from 1pm to 4pm in four cities: Agra, Bareilly, Lucknow and Gorakhpur. The last date of form submission or test date will not be changed. Exam, application form The entrance test (CPAT-2017) will be of one paper with 180 multiple choice questions or 45 questions each from zoology, botany, chemistry and physics. According to the Newspaper,There would be negative marking in the written test and one mark would be deducted for each wrong answer. The University of Lucknow has been given the responsibility to conduct the CPAT-2017 by the state government. The online application form for CPAT-2017 is available on the website www.lkouniv.ac.in and www.cpatup2017. The cost of the form is Rs 2000 for general and OBC applicants while the SC and ST applicants will have to pay Rs 1000. The fee can be paid through net banking, debit and credit cards only.
