AYUSH DOCTORS STAGE DHARNA AT NHM OFFICE

BHUBANESWAR, Orissa: Members of the Ayush Doctors’ Association held a dharna in front of the National Health Mission (NHM) office here on Wednesday demanding provision of regular appointment and salary at par with the Central Government employees.
The association alleged that the State Government is not paying heed to the Ayush doctors’ grievances since ten years despite their repeated demands.
It might be mentioned that in 2015 a high-level committee of the State Government recommended to the Central Government to increase the Ayush doctors’ salary to Rs 15,000.
Again, the State Government sent recommendation for implementing the pay scale in FY 2017-18 in which it was approved as per the 7th Pay Commission recommendation of Rs 23,100, but due to conspiracy it has been made Rs 18,643.
If the demands are not fulfilled, the association threatened that they would hold stir for an indefinite period during the Assembly’s Winter Session.
Among others, association president Dr Jyoti Ranjan Gahan, general secretary Dr Tapan Kumar Dash, Dr Bijay Ketan Sahu, Dr Biswaranjan Jena, Dr Manoranjan Mishra, Dr Pritam Nayak, Dr Kananbala Mohanty, Dr Chandrasekhar Mishra and Dr Srinibas Debata were present.
